well, yesterday I brought my mom to the house and she was doing okay and fairly accepting of the changes that are going to happen.  And she seems fairly optimistic about moving up to San Francisco.  But I didn’t prep her for the trip back to her facility.  And she thought we were going to drive directly to San Francisco.  So she became very angry with me.  When we arrived back at her facility home.  And she didn’t want me to leave and then she forgot who I was.  So not a good day.

I was aware that I was pushing the envelope with her to see what her reaction would be to leaving the facility on a fairly regular if not daily basis.  This is generally considered a very bad idea into dementia community, because the dementia patients need a secure environment, and more importantly, a familiar environment.  But she handled the frustration fairly well as I ran for the door, while the staff ran interference for me.

Then I watched my friend Nancy bowl a 278, one of her best games.  So now I am morally obligated to show up when she plays forever.

Today more cleaning and sorting out, which was aided by Wendy, one of my mom’s friends, who’s company I enjoy, and who has as been very helpful in cleaning up stuff. I think I am getting to the end it, which is a good thing.
