Finally getting my evolution linkage underway. Ahh, life is good. The goal here is to bring my happy evolution internet travels into some sort of structure, more or less what I was doing with the old movie meme site, but under my named banner. Yes, I am bringing back the Moviememe site, and I haven’t quite figured out how to balance the movie stuff with the general evolution/science stuff. In my world, they are more or less the same thing and setting up multiple is what I am striving to avoid.
Anyway, the bad, old days, of WordPress, are rapidly moving behind us and not doing anything on my sites for a year is making setting up this thing a much more pleasant experience for me and hopefully you, the reader. So it looks like I will knock this down to three sites, here, moviememe and kittysingle.
It looks like social networks
social networks are advancing into the evolutionary psychology department, much in the way Columbus stumbled into the “New World.” Sure there were people already there, so technically, human colonization of the Americas went from Northwest to all over, not Plymouth Rock and so on, but do we care? Probably not.
Social Networks are running into the same kind of math that led to game theory e. psyc. and so on, which is very cool, but again by not starting with the basic assumption we live on a planet contained within a natural universe, things tend to get a bit confused.
The trick to human behavior is it is largely predictable at the group level, and mostly predictable at the individual level. Once you move on to verbal speech and text, things get trickier, since these are tools of deception.
Basically, we are uniquely predictable, and our friends at Facebook will help make us better consumers, which is potentially a good thing.
ps. Yes, I did consider pulling Mr. Hell today, given Ted Kennedy’s death, but decided against it.
