Mavis fell this past thursday, which reminds me it’s been awhile since I posted an update.
Her condition is about the same mentally.
The problem seems to be the carpet at the facility she is staying at. Basically, the carpet grabs your feet and trips you. It has happened to me where I’ve been walking along and the carpet trips you up. One of the staff members told me that he had fallen because of the carpet and had learned to make friends with it. Always a good idea.
So I ended up spending Thursday evening and well into Friday morning, the ER with my mom which is always a good idea and bunches of fun. She had a bruise on her arm and a urinary tract infection and that was about it.
So I went in on Friday and there was another patient sitting on the ground who may or may not have fallen because of the carpet. But the staff member who told me he had fallen because of the carpet said most of the accidents and falling that happens at Oakdale Heights in the memory care unit is a direct result of the carpet.
In other news, I am winding down on cleaning out the stuff and will soon move towards cleaning up the place in order to sell it. Over the weekend, Nancy came to the rescue of my mom’s plants and Christmas ornaments, which was greatly appreciated. There is still plenty for the family in England, but the stuff has to go.

Gavin..I am so sorry to hear about your mum…..I just wanted to thank you for talking with me tonight…and to let you know that you and your mum are in my good thoughts and prayers:-)
hugs ….Cindy
Gavin,
I’m so sorry to hear about your Mum, and what happened to her just recently there in San Diego/Santee. I hope she’s “on the mend” soon.
So where’s Lynda hiding? I hope you’re both together—I’m sure you are.
Do you have the house to take care in San Diego? Do you need my help?
Ya know…since I’m not working, I’d love to come down there and help you any way I can-please accept my invitation to assist!
I recently revived my account’s website with Hypermart and found the “pet” project we both worked on to be still preserved as it was in 2006.
Since I’ve been out of work for the last three months following a recent lay-off from a IT Support job I had with an agency and in conjunction with the Palo Alto Unified School District since December-2008, I felt compelled to do something useful with my useless existence!
Would you care to re-collaborate and update the website with me again, I thought it would be fun for both of us—plus we’d get re-acquainted again with our lives and what either of us have been doing lately.
Sound like fun? I have the Dreamweaver-8 in my Apple G$ computer and the original data from three years ago. Plus we could do this now, in the light of Facebook and My Space and do it this time correctly. It just might be a bigger trend, now with the Economic downturn then we realize.
What do ya say Gavi? Plus you could revive MovieMemes once again and start you writing of movies reviewed like you used to as I listed you in the website, etc.
Call me (408) 246-5887 and let’s start Skyping again my friend!
Cheers and goodwill,
Michael Shayman
