I went to the WordPress developer’s meetup last night and met some really great people who were very helpful in helping me figure out how to set up my sites under one banner. I attended the meeting because I am interested in the WordPress MU(multiple user) platform that is supposed to be added to the main wordpress core.
I had the oppertunity to talk to one of the core developers of MU, who said, you don’t want to do that. Ahhhh, music to my ears. My general assumption is I am heading in to some degree in the wrong direction, namely death. One way to speed up the desirability of dying in general, to me, anyway, is wading through software, technology, leading me to the inevitable dead-end.
So it was heartening to be told that was where I was heading, and what should to post-pone the inevitable. It does look like I will be able to organize all my previous sites under one install/umbrella with significantly fewer of the inevitable nightmares I was previously envisioning. Life is good again.
The downside of this is, of course, my various interests will start rubbing elbows with all my other interests. For reasons that are quickly obvious, I will keep the kitty stuff away from my regular writing. Anyone, who thinks I’m such a nice quiet young man, obviously hasn’t talked to me for more than a few minutes. I did come up with a few cool ideas for the kitty site too, which pleases me.
As far as the kitty vids are concerned, I am working with Toni’s Kitty Rescue and her ring-worm kittens at the moment in the SPCA building – not the San Francisco Animal Care and Control building, so no doubt the bureacratic madness of the two agencies, + one rescue group would shut me down in a heart-beat if they actually stepped back and thought about what I was doing.
