The slow realization of what I need to do to get this site up and running again has come into focus. I’ve overcome a couple of the hurdles and have more or less figured out how to build templates with Builder. But and it is a big, scary butt, my pre-built pages are not compatible with the Builder theme, which is kind of the point. Basically, Builder uses a parent/child structure and Remix builds the php. straight into the page template.
This means more back peddling than I originally thought, but not a deal breaker, just a different approach than I had hoped for. It’s coming together and the reasoning behind the madness is still sound. So there
