On the computer building front, Everything is working, more or less, but the PSU is a noisy bastard. So I’m looking to upgrade that, which means all the pretty wiring is going to come up. I’m not happy about that, it was nicely wrapped. The new case is clean, but even with the thermal casing, it’s still louder than the one it is replacing, which should not be.
I’m still a bit nervous about the heatsink on the PSU. That being said, the temperature specs are well below what is dangerous or even hot for a CPU. I’m getting a CPU fan error on bootup, but the fan is working and is controllable by the software, so it is doing something. I suspect it has to do with the low speed of the fan, but it is disconcerting. Haven’t figured out how to control the intake fan on the front of the case either. So it does look like, there is work to do. But so far, only one PSU(an impulse purchase) is the only casualty. Not bad, really.
The heat sink is having the desired effect on the sound card since it is passively cooled and the heat sink, should really be on the other side of the card, but it works and despite the warnings, it is finger touch warm after running it for half an hour with two monitors working. Again, I’m not a gamer, so what those guys are doing to their machines, I’ve no idea.
Again render speed went from four and half hours to twelve minutes on the 20 minute Mr. Hell piece.
Doesn’t seem to like takes, but I’m going to have to go back and check that. It’s a Vegas Pro thing.
