It’s spring cleaning time here at Gavin Central, and the dust is slowly being knocked aside.
I’ve been set back a bit in the new computer had problems that I couldn’t solve so I ended up shopping it. It is ready to be picked up, but as someone who primarily gets around on two wheels, that poses a bit of a problem.
Anyway, I wisely detached my old computer’s gateway to the internet and installed it on the new one before shopping it, which means my main way of editing my site is currently not available to me. I set my laptop up primarily as a writing tool as opposed to a crunching tool, but it looks like I will have some overlap after all.
It is hard to go back to one screen after using a dual monitor system for several years. I could use the television to do my work, but this seems a bit of an overkill, 58 inches of plasma glory to edit .css seems obscene somehow. It may come to that, a fifteen foot vga cord maybe?
I’ve officially began the process of saying goodbye to WPRemix and am entering the brave new world of something called Ithemes Builder. So far, I’m happy with the thing, but it is more of a learning cliff than Remix or Artisteer for that matter.
So the path is spend most of next month rewriting, rebuilding my sites and yes, start shooting pussy.
It’s already the end of February and kittens were already a popping when I was down there.
I’ve also made the decision to move everything to Dreamhost and keep it all on the same server. The main thing I dislike about Dreamhost is it’s lack of cpanel, which they assure me is better than cpanel and in some ways I see their point, but they do have the better video distribution which is important to me.
