Lynda made it home last night, still coughing and hacking which is not such a good sign since she left with it a couple of weeks ago and I only came down with it a week or so.

What a difference a couple of months make. I’ve been somewhat overwhelmed by the AHS event, it never seems to end and it occurred to me as it has for some time now, if not now when. A surprising amount of my writing on the subject of evolution, diet, the life, the universe and so, it once again getting thrown off to the exclusive nether-lands of the web, which this thing was supposed to put a curb too.

I’ve been exceedingly shy for really stupid and fucked up reasons, but they are there none the less. It’s rather an odd thing to negotiate with a tweet community that knows more about my habits than I am aware of myself. I’ll save that for a separate post and get back on the horse.

One of the things I am going to do is start loading the AHS talks onto my site, as I’m the editor on all of them and perhaps give some insight as to what went right and the other hilarity of the day.

I’ve brought Builder up to speed, which is a good thing. Anyway, back to the editing board.

It’s a week after the event and I’m more than a bit shell-shocked. As the old saying goes, “other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the show?”

Quite a bit went wrong on the pre-production side, but a stunning amount of it went right. It really is amazing what a group of human beings with an interest in cooperation and success can achieve. I still haven’t had much of a chance to check the footage, some of it is a bit fuzzy, some the sound is a bit off, none of the slides are synced, and yet, this event rocked, paleo-style.

By the middle of the second day, I was more in the crew’s way and they were getting it done independent of my pointing them in a direction. Given I lost my two techs late in the process, one a week before the show, which made things more exciting.

I’ve yet to sit down and listen to the talks, but by next week I will start coordinating the slides to the talks. All in all a great time.

I’ve been to Iceland and back, a bit different than hell, I suppose. Anyway, I’ve got some work to do, so naturally, I’m doing this instead.

Weird couple of weeks, while I was away, I had a crisis back in the states with a couple of students who I thought I could mainstream, but it turns out not.

They are good enough guys, but don’t quite belong in my kind of class. People often assume I’m some sort of Tai Kwon do guy, a black belt or something, teaching non-violence, peace, love and understanding, and all that shit, but that isn’t how it’s done around these parts.

The two guys ultimately aren’t the problem and they didn’t create problems while they were in my class, but the did create quite the reaction. But at the end of the day, I doubt I can stop everyone from taking a run at one of them and that is more than a little fucked up.

It’s situations like this when you really come to hate the leaders of the mob. I’ve been reading on the reaction to the dead kid story that some creature named Nancy Grace has been exploiting for the past few years. Who knew. You miss so much by giving up on television. But yes, you’d probably want to take a run at one of my student’s too, that is just the nature of the beast.

Having actually sat on a jury and having handed down a shit verdict myself, I feel for the jurors. I feel for them everywhere. It’s something I wouldn’t do again.

So now I’m waiting on a call from their parole officer to see if it’s okay for them to train. I already know the answer, everyone already knows the answer. Sometimes it’s a sad world. Maybe I can set a separate time for these guys, but I doubt it. Basically, they are better off standing there letting someone beat their brains in than defending themselves. I pointed this out to their PO and he agreed, I was probably right.

It’s the thing you think about when you should be working on a project to help end a bit of the suffering in the world. On the airplane back from Iceland, I watched a murder show, with music I liked as a kid. But no, book em’ Danno. The one I saw was about a vet with mental problems and his dead russian whore wife.
I don’t watch this kind of show much any more. But when you are on a plane, the desire to run screaming from the building is something you don’t want to act on. Sometimes I watch the news which has a lot of stories about how thanks to god, some guys get to fuck 5 year olds, some of us have to get by thinking about guys who get to fuck a 5 year old. And not just the priest on boy action, we are talking about real 5 year old pussy that some guy is getting into. Good old god. But when they are that age, does the extra hole really make that much of a difference.

Christ, I miss Oprah. If anyone could get away with asking if 5 year old pussy is fucking good, she’d be the one. That to catch a predator dude, I just don’t see him wrapping his silvery tongue around that one. If we can learn about how Brad and Angelina have at it, lest I remind you, they ain’t even married, the sinners. All I’m saying is an interview with some dude and his 5 year old bride is tv I’d tune into. I don’t know about watching an entire season. I saw some bunny hefner reality show a couple of times at the end before they took the extended cable away. Say want you will, it’s like a sloth mauling a limbless child to be sure, you know it’s going to take way too long, why are you watching, and who makes up this garbage, but it was some damn transfixing shit.

Imagine the same thing, maybe like Beverly hillbillies only it’s some dude air dropped into the playboy mansion with his 5 year old wife and pet sloth preaching about the immorality of the place.

I saw some fucked up show in a fucked up country once about how to avoid the cops while look for blowjobs from 8 year olds. It was very informative. It stopped my surfing in its tracks? “You like yum yum,” the little girls said in English and giggled. Can I fuck them, the conscientious news guy asked, while learning the correct way to bribe the cops. The madam looked horrified. They were too young for even that fucked up country. Yum Yum and up the ass only, sir, what’s wrong with you, you sick bastard. Obviously, a pious Catholic country. Nice to know they have standards.

Some guy wants to interview me for an atheist survey. I guess I qualify despite never having been baptized. And I don’t miss basic cable, but I know it misses me.

I also watched and episode of friends on the airplane. In retrospect, I can see back in the day why Pitt thought Aniston was so fuckable. Maybe not as fuckable as a five year old in some parts of the world, but at 30,000 feet, I could see the attraction.

Iceland is nice I hope to go there again. But next time it occurs to me to pack my own movies. I walked by some asshole with an IPad, which I realized is the exact same screen size as the screens they give you on the international flights on the back of the seat.

But once you hit domestic, better break out the IPad, you bleeding bitches, or Hawaii 5-0 here it comes, my friend. It’s foreign travel that really makes you appreciate the downward shit shoot America is on. Even Egypt doesn’t look that bad and most places look nicer.

I also got a call to go video some defective kittens. It looks like they’ve got the same spastic disease as the one that got me started a while back. Then I got another call saying, my services as the defective cat shooter are no longer needed. Someone else was going to shoot the kittens. The one I shot didn’t make it either, I don’t have the best track record.

Defective cats and humans, it’s a beautiful world. Must be summer, someone’s stolen the sun. Time for work.

(you can also get the live feed here)
Al jezeera is reporting Israel may take Mubarak, since Saudi Arabia has already turned him down.

The American financed Egyptian military has already stated they will not shoot their mothers. Given the Israel/American successful cyber-attack on Iran’s nuclear centrifuges, good luck to Israel in justifying a nuclear strike on Cairo. It would be interesting to know if the decision to shut down the Egyptian internet had something to with that attack or if it was a happy coincidence – meaning if you can hack an Iranian nuclear facility, no reason to think you can’t hack Mubarak’s money. So good luck stopping this thing.

My basic assumption of atheists are theyare Christian trolls out for a bit of mischief, but on digging a bit, I’m willing to give the benefit of doubt and think of my atheist brethren more as a hopelessly confused, al queda style mind-bomber. Which is to say, a typical mind-dead follower.

Your basic assumption is correct, atheism is for all intents and purposes a religion, and atheists are overwhelmingly believer in God as Non-God. Atheists share this basic belief system, with Buddhist, Zen Buddhists, Hindus, Satanists, and the Cultural-Atheist-Jews(the intellectual leading, red-nosed, clownish, reindeer, if you will), of these harnessed little deers, and in truth anyone who isn’t you and your invisible Jesus friend. Believing in the False Jesus is just as bad, as no Jesus at all, in short everyone is an atheist, except you and your bud Jesus, sitting on the back porch of heaven while everyone you ever knew and everyone who ever lived, burns in ever-lasting hell.

So sure, I’m with you bro, Atheists do indeed believe in God, whatever.

Atheists invariably fail on this question, generally known as Hume’s leap – “Fair enough, you don’t believe in God, what other explanation is there for, Life, the Universe, Everything?” and they will for the most part stare at you dumb-founded, because they truly believe that not believing in the baby Jesus is good enough. Screw them. An appeal to ignorance, is more vile, disgusting, and dishonest on the atheist side, who supposedly doesn’t rely on our unseen entity pal for the explanation, than someone who actually uses God as an answer-
Why did God make semen and clouds the same color, and menstrual flow and hell the same color? Because God created man first in his own image and women are taken from the left-over bits of Adam’s rib, are closer to hell, and should accept the curse, shut up about Veganism, and bring me a beer. (I mention this because even as I write, I am consuming something claiming to be unfiltered Vegetarian friendly beer, despite the fact, Yeast is an animal. Spunky things, yeast.) God, is of course, the answer.

Who amongst you wouldn’t love to watch Huckabee on Fox express this opinion? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-BFEhkIujA
And if God works as an answer for the believers, why not the non-believers, just the same?

The dismissal you are engaging in, is to an extent valid, it is true I am not Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Morris the Cat, and so on, stating, “how do you explain,” is the tactics of the lying scum. I have been credited with inventing Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection enough, to recognize the dismissive argument when I see it. Sure, I didn’t invent Charles Darwin or his ideas, but can I employ them when stomping on a know-nothing-dullard-as-answer when the spirit moves me. That I can do.

If you want to discuss, the Time-Space Continuum, I’m happy to say I’m old enough to have seen Star Trek on its original run, never cared much for The Next Generation, thought Deep Space Nine, was the best of the new series, but Babylon 5 really, truly, rocked. And your head is up your butt, because at the end of the day, that stuff, just like baby Jesus, is made up fiction, that just ain’t true. The Beatles concert I went to, that was real.

The bottom-line is simply this, every physics explanation that has contradicted the theory of evolution has fallen. All physics theory is subservient to the theory of evolution. Life won, physics zero. The theory of evolution is the cornerstone of all scientific theory and knowledge, and the basis for legal definition of science since 1987. You want to over-turn Newton’s apple-cart, feel free to take on someone who knows what they are talking about, otherwise, Educate Yourself, and STFUUYD. And no, FU does not indicate Felix Unger.

Again, start with the basic assumption we live on a planet and that planet is contained within a natural universe. If you want to argue with me over nonsense and whether or not I have canines, assume I’m happy to back that one up too.

“You say you hungry,
I give you meat…”
Freddie Mercury.

Spirituality, is an emotional state, as is hunger, happy, sad, and so on. It is a unique emotional state, worthy of its own word, but so is cranky. Spirituality refers to an emotional state where one feels a connection to a larger whole outside and including themselves. Someone who does not feel or believe in this connection/spirituality in some way, is very likely a sociopath. Just saying.

The Pete Singer/Animals First crowd hell-bent on replacing Rousseau’s Noble Savage with Vegan Pussycat, as always ignore-find offensive two basic facts, 1. We live on a planet, 2. All planets are contained within a natural universe.

Sorry my Jedi brothers and sisters, you Trekies, you fellas Jonesing for a giant smurf babe, or old school Carter of Mars Dogs, them places are pure Twilight Zone, I’m talking about actual real world planets. No make believe or Sky Hook Planets allowed.

As far as Rodeos – the events and competitions are demonstrations of skill designed to protect the safety of the animal. Think of a rodeo as a Cop Olympics, only with Moo Cows instead of the economically disadvantaged. If your only exposure to a Rodeo is Glenn Beck referring to himself as a Rodeo Clown, you might take a moment to examine the metaphor, a Rodeo Clown’s job is to come between a worker and an enraged animal – most famously, the Bull (the Market – get it) while entertaining the children.

As far as what function religion serves, how about as a social, economic, and reproductive, framework. Hope that clears it up for you.

Respect? Yes absolutely, I care how an animal is fed, cared for, and slaughtered, before I eat it. From what I see, The Christians are coming increasingly on board in the ethical treatment of food animals. Good luck getting Jews and Muslims to do the same. Seriously, why do atheists always go after the fundies and never the Jews, Muslims, or Buddhists? The problem with cattle production in this country is the over-production of corn, it’s unhealthy for cattle and it’s unhealthy for human beings. Last time I checked, corn is not an animal product.

As far as hunting is concerned, you are advocating starvation, disease, as the humane alternative, or maybe having Bambi’s mom ripped to pieces and eaten alive by a non-human predator, as opposed to an instant death by a bullet through the heart?

Another problem with vegetarianism, is biologically speaking, a woman when preparing for the rigors of child-production and birth is better off health-wise, smoking a pack, and downing a couple of sixer’s a day than she is forgoing meat. The science is there, look it up. Welcome to planet earth.

Which sadly leads us to our increased and disproportionally large Paleo-evolved, brain and body-bits, meaning, selected to eat, meat, fish, Spam, glorious Spam, veggies, fruits, and nuts.

I would say Romero falls into that category. One of the more interesting things about Creation and Survival of the Dead, from a viewing stand-point are the special features. In Creation, the two leads are clueless who Darwin is exactly, other than he’s on the back of a ten pound note.

In Survival, you’ve got a cast and crew screaming, “I’m in a fucking George A. Romero zombie movie.” The actor’s take on his portrayal of Darwin, the greatest scientist and philosopher who ever lived, “he’s on a tenner, don’t know nuthin’ much about him really, funny when you think about it. My next job is chopping off my angel wings and prancing around with a machine gun. None of that here. Chop up a Barnacle, bloody strange looking mollusk if you ask me. I just roll over and go to sleep with me misses, and a dead girl wanders about a bit, think she’s supposed to be my daughter. Bloody nonsense and a bore really.”

In Survival, you’ve got guys laying in frozen ground, tearing through a frozen body with their teeth – and loving it. And I must say, Romero did indeed find a unique and interesting way to tear a body apart.

In Creation, Darwin tears apart a barnacle and does the horror show with some birds. Also in the Darwin special features, one of the consultants for the film did let it drop he, “wasn’t aware of anything quite like that.” A polite way of saying, it’s a bunch of bollocks(bullshit), in’nit. Stepping back a bit, Creation reminded me more of “A Beautiful Mind,” than it did of Darwin’s life, which may have been the point, – want to play the wife of a tormented scientist, Ms. Connelly, there might be another award in it for you – can you play Christian angst?” “Well, my husband likes tenners and so do I, what did he do exactly?”

Actually, it’s not entirely the doof who played Darwin’s fault, (if you think I’m naming the bloke who’s banging Ms. Connelly, you are in for a sorry surprise), because as you may recall, I rub elbows with the science boys and girls myself, so I am intimately acquainted with the pathological ignorance those working in biological science have when it comes to the foundation of their own science.

From what I’m told it isn’t that uncommon to find a young earth creationist working as a geologist and while most biologists can see that absurdity, they aren’t so good at looking at their version of the madness. For instance, the barnacle, is it mollusk or crustacean? A free-swimming crab, everyone know that, unless you have a job in biological science, then if did know that, you wouldn’t have a job in science, or if you did happen to know, you learned it after you got your job, from a condescending swine such as myself.

The bottom line is, it is unreasonable for a working scientist not to know what a barnacle is and why it is important to the theory of evolution – the foundation of all biological science and thus the basis of their paycheck. Hint, guess what critter Darwin used to establish proof of the transmutation of species.

And yes, watching Darwin and zombies on the same night, it is safe to assume Lynda is out of town.

well, I’ve got some five minutes to hit two hundred words about a movie I watched when I should be writing. Also at a blogging meetup tonight about the business side of this thing, which was good.

The point of the evening was content and setting up an appropriate site for the content, which for me is obviously a problem, given the no-shit problem of rubbing elbows with the warriors of christ crowd and atheism at the same time.

Anyway, Creation as a movie, was kinda interesting, kinda bullshit from a historical perspective, imagine the Lewis & expedition. If you happen to know about Clark, then you are thinking what the fuck, but if you don’t, no problem.

Jennifer Connelly was hotter in Labyrinth, but holds her own, even when serving as a baby sack. Somewhat derails from history in the sense that a lot of it is complete and utter bullshit, but other than that, a well thought out movie. The other Darwin movie also about the publication, technically the most important book ever written, non-fiction division that is, is the prefered version, but it does show Darwin in a more tormented state and portrays Christians in a more positive light than they no doubt deserve.

I am somewhat reminded about a review I read of Philadelphia, ten years in and we have to put up with this bullshit, this movie is not good enough. I technically agree, but they got the Gumb guy who got his start playing a tranny, so what the fuck, you can’t have everything, bitch, bitch, bitch. So the next time you rent Philadelphia, be sure to pick this one up as a second feature. Other than that, for completest of the genre, it is impossible for me to recommend this movie. Can’t say I agree with the bullshit surrounding this movie, any movie scheduled to come out on the anniversary of the publication On The Origin should get some sort of release, especially given they’ve got at least one real star, if you know what I mean, but no, didn’t happen.

Anyway, the scenery was nice, and the atheism angle was interesting, but ultimately, other than inspiring me to read another Darwin Bio, I am left scratching my head. Like Hamlet, generally no one is insane enough, generally to produce the entire script without going insane, the same is true for a Darwin Bio, but if this is your only exposure to the how and why of the publication of Origin finally happened, there is the wiggle room, admittedly, for the basic facts, and yet this is a fucking lie of a movie. Wasn’t there for the creation of the universe either, but you get the idea, of how I know what I know.

I am reminded of the Movie Dragon, sitting there in the theater next to Dan, as he counted off, the didn’t happen, did happen, but not like that and so on, which did give someone, unfamiliar with the known facts, in this case, my Lynda, a surprisingly accurate understanding of the Bruce Lee biography. One of the things that both Dan and myself observed was, as a movie, it covered the birth life and death of Bruce Lee and left itself open for a sequel. Creation pulls off the same hat trick, but there is another Darwin movie, PBS special that does a better job, a surprise, surprise, there is another Bruce Lee sequel.

So it goes.

This one has less to do with one of his dead kids than it does some unnamed Scottish swine, who discovered the theory of natural selection while in a malaria educed hallucination and Darwin’s wacky 1st cousin, AKA the missus, who didn’t quite hanker to hubbies killing the unseen entity known as god – creator of the universe and so on – and how Big D had to cover his tracks.

Every now and then something comes along and even I am impressed by the sheer stupidity and cowardice of my fellow species. I am referring, of course, to the claim by the producer of “Creation” that this movie is too controversial for the American people. The possibility there might be a shred of truth to the claim “Americans aren’t ready for a movie about a guy wearing swank clothes, has a bunch of kids, starts out as a creationist, and, oh yeah, after one of his kids dies, he goes a little bug nut crazy and kills, oh, I don’t know, the unseen entity formally known as god. You know, dog is god spelled backward, that one.

Hitler gets his bio, Robert Ford, the man who shot Liberty Valance, the guy who shot, Lincoln, Lennon, Son of Sam, and so on. These guys get their movie but in the United States of America, no we can’t have that.

Jennifer Connelly plays a devout Christian wife, and the real life atheist swine playing Darwin is her real life husband, so their full on penetration, oral, anal, vaginal(doggie, cow-girl, reverse cow-girl, hand job, titty-fuck, facial, cream pie, and not one god dammed frame of missionary, sex scene, is not only a tastefully shot celebration of the sanctity of marriage, it’ll get your motors running. Or so I am told. Not having actually scene the movie, one is left to speculate on its contents. One atheist Brit and ten kids dropping from those thighs, you know what I’m saying.

Ask yourself, how many kids did Hitler have – a repressed Papist fruiter if you ask me. But big D and Emma, do they get even one movie, I mean 10 kids, first cousins, it doesn’t get any more Christian than that and yet still we complain.

And its release date is on my birthday. I am depressed.
