I was at the Spike and Mike Animation Festival, basically a collection of animated shorts with my friend Dan. One of the reasons I wanted to go was because one of the movies, an academy award winner was titled, Ode to GI Joe. I had a lot of GI Joes as a kid. Anyway, this was around the time I was starting to see see Lynda, so it was awhile ago. The movie starts, and I’m thinking, I used to own that, that, and, so on, and in the background, my class photo with me in all my glory is up there on the screen. The second time my photo comes by, I’m screaming, “That’s me, that’s me on the screen.” How many people do you know that have appeared in an award winning animated movie?
God’s way of fucking with the atheists I suppose. I can just imagine my unseen entity imaginary friend, throwing an arm around the should and saying, “remember when….” then we’d go out to the back porch, have us a cold one and watch all the Christian fuckers burn in hell. That’s what you get for believing in me, he’d say. Hard to disagree.
They took the music, the bastards.
